Join us on July 7 and 8 at 7:30pm to audition for the WORLD PREMIERE of a brand-new musical during Peach Days!

Please bring a song (no longer than 2 minutes) and be prepared to read from the script.

Audition sides are available below for review before auditions.

Please reach out to our director, Clint Thornburg, if you have any questions. He can be reached by email at clint.thornburg.official@gmail.com.

We can’t wait to see you!

Cast of Characters

Mayor Reginald Potts (M, 35-50, Tenor): Extremely boorish and not very bright. Blusters, pontificates, and loves to hear the sound of his own voice to the exclusion of all else. Oblivious to the world except as it affects him directly. Despises anyone he feels is 'beneath' him.

Josephine Potts (F, 35-50, Alto): The mayor's wife. Very intelligent, sly, and completely ruthless. Plots with Freddie Katzenberger to get rid of the Dragorians and take over Briggs Hall and the Briggs fortune. She believes she has been cheated out of her inheritance.

Leander Potts (M, 18-25, Baritenor): Mayor's son. Generally good-natured, kind, but somewhat entitled young man. Recently back from college, he is serious and bookish but quite observant. A "romantic lead."

Freddie Katzenberger (M, 25-50, Baritenor): The Marauder Chief. Intelligent, sly, and evil-minded. Conspires with Josephine to plot and plan and make sure those plans come off. He has a deep affection for her and completely supports her agenda.

Spreckles (Any, 15-50, Bari/Alto): Marauder Gang Member. Not too bright. Good at executing plans, but runs into a hitch when plans go wrong. Clumsy, not a big thinker.

Fink (Any, 15-50, Bari/Alto): Marauder Gang Member. Also not too bright. Less good at executing plans and a follower, not a leader.

János Kristoforu (Any, 30-50, Mezzo/Baritenor): Head of a small family group consisting of an older daughter (Mirella) and younger son (Dario). Maker and user of charms, folk magic. Strong believer in family and community.

Mirella Kristoforu (F, 16-20, Mezzo): Eldest daughter. Absolutely besotted by the Mayor's Son, won't consider anyone else as a romantic partner. Has big feelings and shows them. Changes her mind in the end.

Dario Kristoforu (Any, 10-15): Typical snarky younger sibling. Sneaky with plans of his own. A real pain in the butt who doesn't do what he is told, but comes through when it counts.

Vladymir Dragorian (M, 30-50, Tenor): Head of a family that fled Europe to escape persecution. Aristocratic and somewhat aloof emotionally, but loves his family very much.

Hugo Dragorian (M, 18-22, Tenor): Son. Not a bad sort, but somewhat reserved. Falls in love with Mirella and wins her heart in the end.

Cordelia Dragorian (F, 16-20, Mezzo): Daughter. Somewhat shy, elegant, and lovely. An artist and dreamer with a keen eye. She catches the interest of Leander and literally 'draws' him in.

Captain Briggs (M, 30-50): Briggs Hall Ghost, Captain of the Mary Celeste.

Zia the Wise (Any, 20+, Mezzo/Baritenor): A typical fortune teller, really over the top. Mysterious and spooky. Sets the scene by using a crystal ball to see past, present, future. Supported by their assistant who hands them items as needed.

Teo (Any, 10+, Mezzo/Tenor): Zia's assistant, and a storyteller in their own right, helping Zia tell their tales.

Newsie Flynn (Any, 15-25): An energetic young newsie keeping the town in the loop, spreading rumors and keeping everyone on their toes.

Reverend Hawthorne (M, 30-60, Bass/Baritone): Witch-hunting, vampire-killing religious fanatic. Sees evil everywhere and arrives in town breathing fire. Determined to rid the town of evil whatever it takes.

Captain "Foggy" Thomas (Any, 20-60): A competent lobsterman and leader.

"Sharky" Jones (M, 20-60): A lobsterman in town, often helping with other odd jobs.

"Clammy" Sam (M, 20-60): A lobsterman in town, often helping with other odd jobs.

Hollis White (Any, 20+): A resident of Pottsville with an interest in the news.

Maude Johnson (F, 30+): A resident of Pottsville. Protective of Adelaide—her mother or sister.

Adelaide Johnson (F, 10+): A resident of Pottsville. Maude's daughter or sister.
